Dr. Catherine Stayer is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist specializing in mental health and well-being for children, teens, adults, couples and families. She offers an integrative approach to psychiatry which includes psychopharmacology and psychotherapy as well as complementary modalities (i.e., nutritional support, botanicals, nutraceuticals).

BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Stayer trained in Adult Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in a fellowship for clinician-researchers at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and Children’s Hospital, Washington D.C. She is a fellow at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and the American Academy of Anti-Aging, Functional, and Regenerative Medicine.
While attending medical school in Munich, Germany, Dr. Stayer performed research in sleep physiology at the Max-Planck Institute for Psychiatry. She trained in Neurology and received a doctoral degree at the University of Heidelberg. Prior to medical training, she studied Traditional Chinese Medicine in Oakland, California and Wuhan, China and subsequently worked as a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in Berkeley, California. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley with double majors in Biophysics and Neurobiology.
Dr. Stayer has research experience in Childhood-onset Schizophrenia, Tourette’s and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, sleep physiology, neurology, and pediatric psychopharmacology. She has authored numerous articles in neurology and psychiatry. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
